Food Review: Satay (Indonesian)

Indonesian delicacy Satay is our feature for today’s review and, it’s actually the world’s 14th most delicious food.

Here, chicken is the main ingredient with peanut sauce as the “flavoring agent.” Nonetheless, other key ingredients include.. tomato sauce, peanut oil, lemon juice, and peanut butter.

Mix 1 tbsp of peanut oil with 3 tbsp tomato sauce, 3 tbsp soy sauce, a pinch of ground black pepper, 1 pinch of ground cumin, and 2 cloves of minced garlic in a bowl. Then place 6 chicken breasts in it and coat.

Next, cover the bowl and marinate for about 15 minutes inside the fridge. Afterwards, preheat the grill on high heat.

Now, on a pan, saute 1/4 cup of minced onion and a clove of minced garlic on 1 tbsp vegetable oil in medium heat until light brown. Then mix 2 tbsp of white sugar, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and a cup of water. Stir while cooking. When the mixture has blended, remove from the heat and mix with 1 tbsp of lemon juice before setting aside.

Finally, go back to the grill and lightly oil it. Stick the chicken into the skewers as you dispose the marinade and grill for around 5 minutes on each side. Now, serve it with the peanut sauce..

..the difference maker (along with the marination) to what seems like just an ordinary chicken barbeque now turned exquisitely mouthwatering.
