Food & How To: Guacamole (Mexican)

Now here’s a delicious recipe that doesn’t even need to be cooked — the Guacamole; uh huh, it’s one of the most popular Mexican dishes which people from outside Mexico have more likely heard of. And, it’s just basically made of avocados, onions, tomatoes, lemon juice, and chili peppers. Okay, on to the video..

Wow, one must wonder how onions and tomatoes blend with an avocado, a ‘fruit’. And that’s the magic of adding other ingredients like lime and jalapeno. While there are those who’d prefer not to use olive oil as avocados are already rich in natural oil, obviously the oil here helps in the lubrication and especially in the blending of flavors.

Remember one of the ingredients in a vegetable salad? It’s olive oil. Right. Though in this case, you could add a little water especially if it gets a little too sticky for you.

At the end of it all, this amazing dish is again best eaten with ‘tortilla’ chips — a trademark of Mexican cuisine. Or you may serve it as a side dish if you wish..

Enjoy!
