Food Review: Grilled Pork Belly and Binagoongan (Island Grill)

Are all grilled meat actually the same? Ahmm… Only if they just grill it. Otherwise, there are some differences especially in the sauce. I mean, not exactly the sauce that you dip in but the ‘seasoning’ or garnish that are used to flavor it.

Something like marinating.

And so for this week, we bring you the Grilled Pork Belly and Binagoongan from Island Grill.

Grilled Pork Belly

Well, the pork belly is okay. It’s not really toasted, while the size of the fat is just enough to ‘oil’ the meat into a tasty dish — yep, although they could certainly improve the ‘atchara’.

Meanwhile, the Binagoongan is kinda sweet. Yeah, the ‘bagoong’ that is. Like t’was made for dipping raw mangoes.

Can you imagine that?

And the soup was pretty bland, too, like t’was only there to wet your lips and rice. Haha! Still, the main dish was satisfying enough that you’d ask for additional rice.

Till next time.. Enjoy!
